  • We are finally awakening enough to understand that an enormous chunk of human history played out – and left whatever archaeologic record might still be found – in villages, camps, earthworks and seaport Cities all situated near the edges of the Continental Shelves. Much of that history will have been scoured away by the same incomprehensible Younger Dryas period Mega-floods that ripped away even hundreds of meters of Basaltic Bedrock along with the forests, fields, soil, and whatever creatures were living in those places, now submerged below a hundred and thirty meters of Ocean waters. •••• But there should likely be some places where floodwaters converged on a convenient canyon, and sheet flooding was channeled into those canyons and carved THEM instead of erasing the entire surface of the coastal plain. We have the technology. Do we have the will?

  • If I grasp the imperative logic of Mr. Carlson's exposition here, the changes likely heading this way will not be deflected by erecting a large Billboard on our roofs proclaiming, "This household supports strict employment of the preferred gender-descriptive pronouns of ALL politically protected groups, even those who have not yet been fully-described or even born; We also fully support the inalienable right of the pregnancy-capable persons -- whatever gender pronouns they prefer -- to TERMINATE their pregnancies at ANY TIME WHATSOEVER, without hindrance or accusations or criticism whatsoever!!! We only consume vegetables, no sentient beings; No Leather products; no Gelatin in our pantry or fridge; We even Honor Yogurt Critters!" ••••• So what Randall is telling us is that the comets and earthquake ground waves; the onrushing floodwaters, tornadoes, and stampeding, bellowing, terrified Megafauna tryina escape the disasters --- NONE of 'em --- are likely to even bother Reading our Billboard before they smash and trample and pound our bitty home --- with us inside --- to a bloody pudding. It will be like those Hebrews -- oppressed of the Pharaoh --- on the night of the first Passover, who didn't have a lamb to sacrifice, so they painted their lintel posts with the blood of whatever hapless rodents or birds they could run down. No protection for them, too bad.

  • We just keep going back to the well on this one. "A rock might fall out of the sky at any moment, and therefor your catastrophe can be ignored." Mr Carlson SEEMS like a genius but is unable to prevent himself repetedly saying that. I suggest he try. Because there are few things as stupid as saying "Your house burning down is not important becase Hirosihma happend... twice, and might happen again." I have INSURANCE on my house. And if a rock falls out of the sky ON IT, ... I expect to collect.
