Types of evidence can be classified as footprints, that are obvious - like an impact crater, or fingerprints, that require enhancements with technology to assess – like the spectrum of microspherules at the YDB horizon or the variety of indicators that are retrieved from ice cores. RC details the differences between airbursts and impacts, along with the types of incoming objects and the effects that they create, revealing why the estimates of geocosmic encounters is way too low. Then going into the research papers that compare evidence between Tunguska, YDB and KTB events, and present comparable evidence across multiple sites on three continents, Randall commits to rout out the devil in the details, and the guys marvel at the type of event that would create the temperatures necessary to boil quartz.

Over the decades, this network using microphones, seismic detectors and computer analysis has identified blasts as the upper atmosphere explosions of infalling asteroids, meteors, or comet fragments. Many of these blasts are in the same magnitude range as man-made nuclear devices. **** The Los Alamos National Laboratory infrasound monitoring array and other monitoring systems have shown that "30 ±9 large bolides with an energy level of 0.1kt are likely to enter Earth’s atmosphere every year."
