Just to remind folks --- I like showing people how to do animation. I've taught almost 2,000 people how to draw animation, and how to use 2D and 3D animation Software. My brother and I started drawing when we were in diapers. Eventually that got us to where we could make some $$$ at it. I'm not saying it's easy. But it's a way to make a living, if you hustle. •••••••••••••

After the RugRats and CatDog CD games, Know Ware creative director Mike Bailey steered Scholastic's Andrea Chan to me to correct some off-model Clifford scenes someone had delivered. As I was working on those, they asked if I could also create an animating 3D Carousel to be used in several places in the game.

Believe it or not, this was done with Infin-D, not quite as sophisticated as the Wavefront Kinemation I'd used at Atari for a few years, but it did the trick. I added my own "secret sauce" to tart up the sequence a little, adding black outlines to get the 3D bits to match the drawn 2D art for the scenes in which it animates. Of course, that's just a clickable option for rendering out of most 3D programs now...
