El Salvador. New research has indicated the Campana Pyramid at the San Andres site was built from ash and rock from the Ilopango Super Volcano eruption roughly 1500 years ago, the first Mayan Pyramid shown to be built this way. Was this volcanic eruption a partial cause of the "Dark Ages"?
