Just to remind folks --- I like showing people how to do animation. I've taught almost 2,000 people how to draw animation, and how to use 2D and 3D animation Software. My brother and I started drawing when we were in diapers. Eventually that got us to where we could make some $$$ at it. I'm not saying it's easy. But it's a way to make a living, if you hustle. •••••••••••••
This is the animated storyboard that accompanies the rough animation and Cleaned-up Walk Cycle of the Goofy Roman Soldier.
The walk cycle would be just one element in the story, that might have an overall running time of a couple of minutes to unfold to its ridiculous ending.
So these were created to give students a glimpse of the process from storyboard to finished animation, at least a fragment of the end product. I keep saying I've taught animation & CGI at six institutions... But of those schools – all of 'em fully accredited, and some of 'em really excellent programs – only the Art Institutes had a program that clearly was set up to train people for the animation/CGI/electronic graphics/advertising/broadcast industry as I had experienced it for four decades.
Sadly, they were targeted for destruction by the Empire's Death Star. Didn't quite fully kill the nationwide school; still seven or eight campuses surviving. Maybe I shouldn't mention that. Well, their locations are well-kept secrets.
For now.
