Star Trails can be very difficult on computers, SD Cards, and harddrives. We're taking hundreds of photos in a single night! With the Alternate Workflow, we only need a couple dozen photos, which can make things much simpler.

Capturing a star trails photo is actually very simple. Shoot a ~20 second exposure, ISO ~3200, f/2.8. Set the Interval to either 21" or 1". Take at least 240 images. That's all there is to it!

Before you begin taking your star trails photos, you need to determine how your camera's Intervalometer works. On my Nikon cameras, I always set my Interval to 1" longer than my shutter speed. However, on Fuji cameras the Interval must be just 1"
